With the announcement of a November 24th election, we can expect the official writs will be announced this Wednesday (17th October). Due to the recent changes made to by the Howard Government, you only have until 8PM on the day of the writs to ENROL TO VOTE.
Now is the time to check your enrolment. The Australian Electoral Commission has a handy online form to CHECK YOUR ENROLMENT DETAILS.
Even if you’ve voted before, never moved house and never changed any details, I urge you all to DOUBLE CHECK YOUR ENROLMENT - it’s better to be safe than sorry, and you don’t want your voice silenced on such an important day.
You can also use the site to check your electorate information, learn more about the electoral system or find out the various ways you can vote.

Hi Tim
As I noted at Enrol and Register To Vote: You Can Make A Difference:
“If you post the form in it will quite likely be processed too late.
You may scan and email your completed form to info@aec.gov.au or enter your postcode into the AEC website at http://apps.aec.gov.au/eSearch/divisiondetails.aspx to find the fax number for your local AEC office.
If you need to enrol to vote, the deadline is 8pm Wednesday 17th October. If your details are not up-to-date, you have until 8 pm on Tuesday 23rd October to update them.”
