Convergence on Canberra
February 12, 2008 by Rachel Siewert
Australian Greens Senators Bob Brown & Rachel Siewert speak at the Convergence on Canberra rally.
On Tuesday 12th February 2008, people from all around Australia came together for “Convergence on Canberra”, calling for an immediate review of the NT Intervention, restoration of the Racial Discrimination Act, Aboriginal control of Aboriginal affairs, and implementation of the UN Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous peoples.

Thankyou Rachel and Bob for your speeches at the “Convergence on Canberra”. You represented so many Greens from around the country who were unable to be there in person , but were definitely there in ’spirit’.
This was a fantastic day moving forward. Now the real work starts with the major parties “putting there shoulder to the wheel” and getting on with the job.
The real breakthrough will be the removal of the “intervention” policy of the Howard government.
