Let your readers know what Greensblog is up to, right there in your sidebar! Adding these widgets to your blog will automatically display links to our latest headlines as new posts are added.

Choose which type of widget below looks like it will best suit your site and follow the instructions on adding it. The images below are a guideline as to how they will look - the actual widget has each heading as a clickable link to Greensblog content.

Blogs on WordPress.com

This is really easy.

  • Using the Presentations options, click on Widgets and add an RSS module to your sidebar.

    • Open the RSS module editor and configure the feed URL (http://greensblog.org/feed/) and module title, then close the module editor.
    • Now, click on Save Changes and presto! You should now have a box in your sidebar that looks rather like the one on the left, matching your blog’s template.
    • This method will also work on some WordPress.org blog templates, if they are “widget friendly” templates, and probably on any other blog platform which supports sidebar widgets that include an RSS feed module.

Blidgets or RSS Widget from Widgetbox

Widgetbox is a remote widget hosting service, which allows you to install widgets on a wide variety of blogging and social networking sites using simple prompts, or if you know some HTML you can copy the code into your template wherever you prefer.

Blidgets

This is a highly customisable widget, you can choose your own colour and whether you want it slimline or broad. You can choose to show the Greensblog logo or not.

RSS Widget

  • A much simpler and faster-loading widget, this one is not so highly customisable, although you can choose width, height and link-text colour.
  • You need to paste in the URL of the Greensblog feed to generate the specific widget before adding it to your site.
